Page 1 of 2 In the summer of 1999 a group of people from Clinton International Church set out to plant a new church in Charlotte, North Carolina under the leadership of Bishop Larry Jackson. The church was launched through evening services. Bishop Jackson and members of his church in Clinton, North Carolina would conduct service in Clinton on Sunday morning and immediately drive to Charlotte for evening services held in the Baptist Metrolina Building. The church immediately attracted a diverse group of people and was subsequently named Charlotte International Church. The excitement about this new church was growing each week. The decision was made to start morning services and move to a hotel location.
The morning services attracted a new audience of which many remain to this day. Bishop Jackson’s ministry was continuing to advance as he was a regular speaker for the national men’s ministry Promise Keepers. He was a conference speaker for many other organizations such as, Peter Wagner’s Spiritual Warfare Conference, General of Intercessors conferences and a host of men’s meetings. Bishop Jackson appeared on Trinity Broadcasting Network and the Inspirational Network and was featured in Charisma and Ministries Today Magazines. God was increasing Bishop while the church was advancing and developing. The Church then moved from the school to a location on Monroe road in Charlotte, NC which was a stand alone building. During this season an awesome move of God took place where the Holy Spirit of God began to change the lives of those who came to the church. This was a season where the presence and power of God was noticeable even in our homes and on our jobs. We held services five times per week to accommodate this move of God’s spirit among us. Everything associated with the church was increasing during this special time. People who didn’t know the Lord would come to the service and began to weep without anyone speaking to them and before the service started. The presence and power of God was intense at times that people had to be driven home because they couldn’t drive. This lasted for three months and just as quickly as it began the presence lifted but a deposit of power and purpose was placed within the body. During this season a new location became available to on the North side of Charlotte. It was clear that the church should pursue the property. Through God’s faithfulness we acquired the property located at 3715 Ridge Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is the church’s current location.
